The laboratory is available 11 hours a day during the semester period and 7 hours a day in the intermediate time (holidays). There is a timetable for regular student practicals which take place under direct staff supervision. The remaining laboratory time is available to individual users who make in advance time reservation for the chosen equipment or simply come and work if the laboratory is not overcrowded.
The assistants who supervise student teams working in the laboratory are responsible for their safety. They instruct students about possible danger and the proper behaviour in the robot environment.
There is a list of people permitted to do individual work with no staff supervision. The list is maintained by the laboratory head who initially acquaints such user with the safety rules. The user receives the information about the laboratory facilities too. Then he signs the declaration that he or she is aware of the dangers that may be encountered in the laboratory and that he or she will obey the rules.
The safety rules are displayed in an easily accessible place in the laboratory.
